Under the stewardship of Gino Tsai, owner of J D Corporation, the company designed the Razor Scooter, which took 5 years to manufacture. Gino felt that his legs are too short to get around his huge bicycle factory in Taiwan, and hence needed a vehicle. The ease of mobility offered by old-fashioned scooters inspired him. But he wanted something compact. This led to the design of the collapsible, aircraft grade, aluminum scooter called Razor Scooter.
