Sapphire beach...

What Makes The Sapphire Beach Resort Different: As a movie director may say, "Location, location, location!" The Wyndham Sapphire Beach Club and Resort is located on the island of St. Maarten. This island, surprisingly enough, is also known as St. Martin due to the fact that it is shared by two sovereign governments: the Dutch and the French. This is very evident, and makes St. Maarten a rather unique place with a delightful blend of French and Dutch cultures. Relations between the two 'halves' of the island are extremely good, in fact, they have been since the shared coexistence began over 350 years ago. The Wyndham Sapphire Beach Club and Resort is located in the Dutch Side, but is just minutes away from the French Side too, offering its patrons the opportunity to experience both of the rich cultures that call this island home.

The Sapphire Beach Club on Cupecoy Beach: Cupecoy Beach is famous in its own right and today, it offers the clientele of the Wyndham Sapphire Beach Club and Resort all of its beauty. The resort itself takes full advantage of this natural wonder with many of its rooms having ocean and beachfront facing terraces so that its guests may gaze upon the pristine ocean at any time they desire. Cupecoy Beach has more than just its stunning looks however, and is also a perfect location for snorkeling and swimming. Also there are a variety of other activities to be had that include scuba diving, deep-sea fishing, or even visits to the other nearby islands whether for a picnic or simply to explore. If you prefer something of a more competitive nature, there are even yacht racing contests every so often.

Marina Port la Royale: A Place Anyone at the Wyndham Sapphire Beach Resort Should GoFor those who have had their fill of the bounty offered by Cupecoy Beach, the Marina port la Royale is an ideal destination for visitors to the Wyndham Sapphire Beach Resort. Located in the French Side of St. Maartens, the Marina port la Royale features many elegant shops and superb restaurants and bars. The range of options is surprisingly large, not at all what one might expect from a small island, and it certainly does not disappoint. If an evening meal is on the cards, going to the small, but fine bistro of Le Chanticlair will definitely be a rewarding experience. Also Layla's, with its outdoor beach dining is an excellent combination of outdoor atmosphere and spectacular views and exquisite food served to perfection.

Other Places of Interest While at the Wyndham Sapphire Beach Club and Resort: It would be a true shame to not experience the bounty offered by the rest of St. Maartens. The Marina port la Royale is not the only fine place to visit close to the Wyndham Sapphire Beach Club and Resort. As mentioned earlier, trips to nearby islands are available, and the volcanic island of Saba would certainly be worth going to. Also, on the St. Maartens Island itself, a trip up to Paradise Peak would allow you to view the island from its highest point. The Marigot Market, St Martin Museum, and Butter Fly Farm are all worthy destinations as well. Philipsburg, the capital of the Dutch Side offers a wide range of options, from night clubs to cafes and is constantly bustling with cruise ships making stop overs.
