Rack builder...

Army awards and Rack Builder: The Army Awards and Decorations program offers recognition for acts of bravery, outstanding services or achievements, special skills and qualifications. It is the responsibility of every soldier to inform higher authorities of any act of bravery performed by a colleague. This ensures that the act of valor and the deserving person gets tangible recognition.

According to this criterion, a confidential military officer can recommend a captain for an award, but more often than not, the system works on the reverse pattern. Service ribbons are required to be worn in the order of superiority, from the wearer’s right to left, in one or more lines, either without a space between the rows or with one-eighth inch space. A rack builder is one of the best tools to ensure that every deserving soldier receives ribbon medals as Army awards, in the right order. As per the military rules, no row can contain more than four service ribbons. The unauthorized display of U.S. decorations, badges, unit awards and appurtenances are considered illegal, according to the Federal law. The person is liable to pay heavy penalty, if caught. However, retired personnel and former soldiers are allowed to wear full size or miniature medals on appropriate civilian dresses, on specific days such as Veterans Day, Memorial Day and Armed Forced Day. The days also include occasions of celebration and social functions of military nature.

There are various websites on the Internet that provide you with rack builder army awards, with specific dates and designations in an arranged manner. In a rack builder you will find all the army awards placed in order of precedence.

Rack Builder and Military Ribbons: A rack builder contains an arranged list of the various designations and several military ribbons that are awarded to deserving military personnel. US Prior Service medals and Training ribbons that are awarded by the other US services can be worn on the Air Force Longevity Service Award Ribbon and Air Force, Navy and Coast Guard marksmanship ribbon. Service and training ribbons awarded by other US services may be worn after completion of US Army service. In case a person is awarded by more than one service, the following order is adhered to: Navy, Marine, Corps, Air Force and Coast Guard.

In order to create a rack builder of military ribbons, you need to check the boxes on the computer screen placed next to the ribbons you wish to display. Once you are through, you need to scroll to the bottom of the screen and click on the ‘create rack’ button, to generate the ribbon rack. There are several awards that are included in a rack builder, along with the description, criteria, ribbon length and designs. Some of the awards with their descriptions are as follows:

Medal of Honor: The President awards The Medal of Honor to a person who, as a part of the Army, distinguishes himself by an act of bravery and intrepidity, at the risk of his life and beyond the responsibilities of duty.

Defense Distinguished Service Medal: This medal is awarded for an exceptional performance on duty, upholding national security or defense, at the highest level, while assigned to a joint activity.

Silver Star: The Silver Star is awarded to a person who, while serving the U.S. Army, is recognized for bravery in action against an enemy of the country, while engaged in military operations like open conflict with the opposing foreign force.
