Suspended Driving License:A driving license is an official
document that guarantees the eligibility of an individual to drive a motor
vehicle, such as a motorcycle, car, truck or bus. The license can be
issued to all those who meet the minimum age requirement of the state and pass
a driving test. People with suspended driving licenses are
barred from driving, for a specified period of time. If a person with a
suspended driving license is caught driving, he is liable to be sentenced to
one year’s imprisonment and/or a fine of ,000 or above.
The penalty is much more if the driving license was suspended
because he was drunk while driving. In such a case, the person may be
imprisoned for five years and/or fined 0,000. This also results in the
suspension of registration of all the vehicles owned by the convicted person,
for a specified time period. Failure to report an accident, driving in a drunk
or intoxicated condition, disobedience of court orders and default at the
breath test are just a few examples of situations that can lead to the
suspension of the driving license.
International Driving License: The issue of an International Driver’s License was officially declared in
1949, by the United Nations, to enable a person to drive in foreign country.
International driving license does not involve driving tests in the foreign country or applications to
the foreign officials. It is important to note that a person is required to
maintain the native driving license and the international driving
license, when driving in another country. The basic eligibility to acquire
an international driving permit is the completion of 18 years of age. An
International driving license costs for one-year validity,
for three years validity, for 5 years, for 10 years validity and
0 for a 20 years validity period. A person with a revoked or suspended
driving license cannot acquire an international driving
license.
Texas has implemented the ‘Driver’s License
Point System’ to check offensive driving. Driving without a driving license
is a serious offense and the penalty differs from state to state. Florida
considers this as ‘misdemeanor’ and Texas also treats it as a
misdemeanor, with a fine of 0. Misdemeanor refers to a crime that is not so
serious in nature, but the person may be fined for such an act. The term of
imprisonment for a misdemeanor is generally a year.
Without Driving License: Driving without
a driving license is a punishable act and the person can be sentenced to
6 months imprisonment and/or a fine of 00. Many people without
license resort to unfair means to make fake driving licenses. A provisional
driving license can be given to a person who does not have any previous
driving experience. Various states have different rules and regulations for
driving motor vehicles, stated by the governing body and the citizens are
expected to abide by these rules.
Ontario Driving License: The Ontario driving license is a single plastic card displaying vital personal
information about the owner. The driving license confirms the name,
address, date of birth, gender, height, license issue date and expiry date. The
Ontario driving license also displays the code that shows the
class of vehicle that the driver is allowed to drive. It also specifies the
particular conditions under which he is supposed to drive. The conditions may
specify driving only when sober and wearing spectacles while driving.
