“Science Museum” is a museum that collects and displays objects of scientific interest.

Museum of Science and Industry: Museum of Science and Industry is located at the Palace of Fine Arts in Chicago. After visiting the museum of science in Munich, Germany, Julius Rosenwald, the chairman of Sears a philanthropist donated large amounts of money for a similar industrial museum. It was the first museum to have participation of industry in its exhibits. The museum of science and industry in Chicago has won many awards and accolades and have a number of industrial exhibits, ranging from industries like aviation to mining.

Museum of Science in Boston: The museum of science is a landmark in Boston, it began as the Boston Science of Natural History in 1830 and was founded by a group of men to share scientific interests in order to store, display skins and other trophies of their travel in Asia and Africa. It was later reestablished under the name of Boston Museum of Science after the war. The museum later had a few other additions like the Charles Hayden Planetarium, The Computer Museum etc. The Museum has a few attractions like the world's largest Van de Graaff generators, host to the movie Lord of the Rings Trilogy and contains most of the costumes and props from the films, its very own built in and designed exhibit entitled Star Wars: where Science meets Imagination etc.
There are other museums of Science, which exhibit other technical and mechanical items like the Franklin Institute Science Museum. On February 5, 1824, Samuel Vaughn Merrick and William H. Keating founded The Franklin Institute of the State of Pennsylvania for the Promotion of the Mechanic Arts. In 1834 the Franklin Institute was moved from 15 South 7th Street to Benjamin Franklin Park way.

Natural: The museums of science that lean on the environmental side, are the Museum of Science, Minnesota, Miami museum of Science and Planetarium and Denver museum of nature and science.
The museum of Science, Minnesota is focused on topics like technology, natural history, mathematics, physical science and education. They have permanent exhibits like the dinosaurs and fossils gallery, human body, experiments, Mississippi, big back yard galleries and also have an omnitheater which is leading producer to omnifilms. They also have other facilities like the Vault that houses over 1.7 million artifacts, education division related to overnight camps, any on-site youth and family classes and day camps, museum programs are also hosted at various schools throughout the region. The museum was earlier located at Wabasha street and in 1999 was moved into a building overlooking the Mississippi river which was better equipped to handle the demands of large group visits and better facilities as well.
The Denver museum of nature and science has it roots from the year 1868 and was established in 1900.It was known as the Colorado museum of natural history and is now known as Denver museum of nature and science. In began in 1868 when Edwin Carter arrived in Breckenridge and devoted his time to birds and mammals of the Rocky Mountains. Carter soon assembled one of the most complete collections of Colorado fauna and displayed his specimens in his log cabin home, dubbed the Carter Museum.
