Asteroid coming

Asteroid Coming To Earth: Asteroids are small rocky and metallic objects that orbit the Sun. They are too small to be considered planets. However the size can vary from small pebbles up to a diameter of about 1000 km. These asteroids can be found inside Earth's orbit and beyond Saturn's orbit. Some have orbits that cross Earth's path and can even hit the Earth. A Crater near Winslow, Arizona has been created by the impact of falling asteroids. Till 1991 the studies involving asteroids were carried from Earth. In October 1991, asteroid 951 Gaspra was visited by the Galileo spacecraft. In August 1993 Galileo visited 243 Ida. On June 27, 1997 the spacecraft NEAR made a high-speed close encounter with asteroid 253 Mathilde. The asteroids having their orbits close to the Earth’s are known as Near-Earth asteroids or NEAs. They intersect Earth's orbit and can collide with our planet. There are all most 1000 near-Earth asteroids. One asteroid 1036 Ganymed has a diameter of 32 kilometres. Some NEAs have highly eccentric orbits and are considered to be extinct comets. Few may still show faint comet-like tails. There are three groups of NEAs. The Atens: They are with average orbital radii closer than one astronomical unit. The Apollos: These are with average orbital radii greater than that of the earth. The Amors: They have average orbital radii in between the orbits of Earth and Mars. Atens and Apollos have eccentric orbits and cross Earth’s orbit, posing the threat of collision. Amors do not cross Earth's orbit but can come very close.
Asteroid Coming Close To Earth: Many asteroids have come closer to Earth and many have collided with the surface. There are evident of such physical collisions since pre historic age. A peanut-shaped asteroid named 4179 Toutatis came near Earth on September 29 2004. March 18, 2004 saw a very close recorded approach of a near-Earth Asteroid 2004 FH which was about 30 metres in diameter. It passed approximately 43,000 kilometres above the Earth's surface. Astronomers detected it just three days before the day of nearing.
Asteroid Coming Towards Earth:Scientist are tracking 109 potentially dangerous asteroids coming close to the surface of Earth. If the sizes are small they will harmlessly disintegrate in to the atmosphere. But asteroids with bigger in diameters can create havoc if collide with Earth. Thanks to the advancement in the field of science and technology, scientists can predict the exact path of the asteroid. One asteroid, 1999 AN10 would come almost near 30,000 kilometers on August 7, 2027. One more is headed our way according to the scientists and will arrive in October 2028. It has been named as 1997 XF11 and will come near 26,000 miles of the surface of the earth, which is about 1/4 of the distance from the earth to the moon. If it hit the surface, it could have the power of a couple million atomic bombs. If it landed in the ocean, the tidal waves can wipe out all coastal cities.
