Siberian husky

Siberian Husky: This breed of dog originated in the eastern part of Siberia and these are a medium sized dog that weighs sixteen to twenty seven kilograms. It has a height of about 51 to 60 cms. The dogs of this breed are very resilient and are well known for their innate capacity to survive the frigid atmosphere of the Arctic. These were originally bred by a tribe by the name of Chukchi and these people used the dogs for accomplishing tasks such as pulling the sleds, herding the reindeer and also to keep their children warm.
The dogs of this breed have thicker coats as they have to fight the severe cold. These have a variety of colors and a range of patterns. The paws and the legs are usually white, have facial markings and their tails are tipped. The colors in which they are found are grey and white, black and white, pure white, copper-red and white. There are other varieties that have colors like biscuit shadings, brown, piebald spotted and reddish in color. There are several facial marks like spectacle marks, striking marks are found of the faces of this breed of dogs. They are quite similar to that of wolves in relation to their physical structures but they have less amount of fur and they are also much smaller. Their eyes are blue, hazel or brown in color though there are rare and “bi-eyed” varieties also available. The coat of a Siberian Husky is found in two layers. There is a cashmere like dense inner coat and a long and coarse top coat. These dogs shed their coat in once a year but those that stay indoors shed less profusely.
Their temperament is in contradiction to their intimidating appearance. They might look like a wolf but these are actually quite gentle in their temperament. They are a working breed and they are very energetic. They also enjoy a lot of outdoor activities and this combination not only makes them well suited as family dogs they are also good for participating in the dog shows and fairs. Huskies are very curious, affectionate and warm creatures and so they are used as therapy dogs as well.

Selling the husky:Husky sales are done on the basis on how well they have been groomed and how well they can socialize. Prices also depend on these factors. Moreover the one who is buying should take care of the fact that they are thoroughly checked, wormed and de vaccinated before buying.
Their breeding: Siberian huskies are reared mainly for the dogsled racing but these are being fast replaced by the faster variety of the Alaskan Huskies. The breeding of this variety needs to be done by experienced breeders as the combination of the wolf characteristics and the breed ones would be ferocious if not done carefully.
