The English breed of Bulldog Puppy: Some useful information regarding an English bulldog puppy. An English bulldog puppy should not be left out of the house on hot days, as they cannot bear the heat. They should be restricted to only 10 minutes out in the heat as they could die due to overheating if they are left outside for a very long time. They cannot swim so incase they fall into the swimming pool rescue them immediately. It is of best interest to keep them away from the swimming pool if you are not around them. Always remember to choose a vet that is recommended for bulldogs. An English bulldog puppy is very sensitive to anesthesia therefore there have been provisions made exclusive to this special breed. Toys that are indestructible in nature only should be given to them to play with. Do not give toys made up of rawhide or plastic or any material, which can be chewed on to a Bulldog. Greens should never be fed to this breed as they swell in the stomach causing death. An English bulldog puppy requires a lot of attention. Without any proper attention and training an English bulldog puppy has a tendency of getting very hyperactive and destructive in nature. Mini English bulldog puppies were developed in the 1980’s for better health and reduce its size from the full sized English bulldog. The mini ones are basically an improved version of their behavior, looks, and better health, which make it ideal for any Bulldog lover. The minis are more active, obedient, loving, loyal, people oriented, protective companions and love to be around you all the time. They have to be groomed once a week and special attention should be given to their ears and face. They weigh anywhere between 20 to 40 lbs. Their statistics are approximately 12 to 14” at the shoulders 17 to 24” in length. They are a real joy to have around you.
The French breed of Bulldog Puppy: Often known as a "Frenchie" some time around the 1800’s the French Bulldog Puppy was originally used as work dogs in the farming communities. Soon later on it came to be known that they were family oriented and made pretty good family pets. It is said that sometime in the mid 19th century the Normandy lace workers that traveled from England to France took smaller variations of the bulldog as they were in search of work. The lace workers settled down in Northern France among the farming communities, so did the demand and popularity of these little bulldogs. The French Bulldog Puppy has a medium or small structure, a smooth coat, s muscular build and is very active. The Frenchie weighs within the range of 20 to 28 lbs and is 12” tall.
They are available in 3 colors namely pied, fawn, and brindle. They make great companion dogs.
The American breed of Bulldog Puppy: The American breed of Bulldog Puppy is also fondly called “Old Country Bulldog”. The American breed of Bulldog Puppy is very close to the original English working Bulldogs. They are bold and lively. Their size and color vary. Their built is robust and are well muscled. They make powerful companions. They weigh between 65 to 130 lbs. And are 19-28" at the shoulder. They are prone to health problems like hip dysphasia. They live up to 16 years of age. Their litter size is an average of 11 puppies.
