Beagle mix Pug: Cross breeding has long been the passion of canine enthusiasts and such berserk experimentations have given rise to a variety of hybrid dogs that have proved themselves either a boon or a curse to the mankind. Those with a fascination for Beagles have tried the same over years with a variety of other dogs and the results were quite satisfactory, for example, the Beagle mix Pug is now known as the Puggle and is adored by large number of people around the world. The Puggle weighs around 15 to 20 pounds, and grows up to 13 to 15 and come in varying colors. The hybrids feature wrinkled black masks like the Pugs, whereas a longer body and nose and floppy ears come from the Beagles side. However, hybridization tampers its appearance a lot and its attributes are hard to predict.
Beagle mix Lab: Commonly known as the Labbe, the Beagle mix Lab or Labrador retriever is also known as the Beagador, an unique animal requiring low maintenance and with a highly sensitive olfactory faculty. Its other traits are a playful yet serious nature, discipline and sometimes a confused mentality regarding anything it catches; often they cannot make out what to do with the catch and lets it go. A size that can range from a Beagle’s to a Labrador’s, they weigh between 45 and 70 lbs. and usually make a good candidate to be featured in America’s Funniest Home Videos.
Jack Russel Terrier: The Beagle mix Fox Terrier The Beagle mix Fox Terrier was developed in the 19th century England by Jack Russell, a clergyman for the purpose of hunting small games. Energetic and playful, the Jack Russell terrier is a good family companion and can amuse the family members with mock hunting, tracking abilities, agility and silly but adorable tricks. White with reddish black, tan, or brown markings on the head and on the tail, it has a flat skull and dark, almond-shaped eyes with v-shaped ears folded forward. A flexible body and a small chest are its biggest assets, while it’s Irish counterpart’s (Jack Russell Shorty) is shorter legs.
Other Beagle Mix varieties: Like purebred Beagles, other Beagle mix varieties are also known for being friendly towards people, children and other animals. Beagle mixes, like the ones crossed with dachshund, poodle, Chihuahua or boxer inherit all of the good traits of the purebreds without retaining the genetic health issues. But more than that, a Pit Beagle" or a Beaglehuahua is quite an uncommon creature and can add that extra glamour in one’s pet-keeping habits.
