Mitsubishi lancer

Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution: The Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution is the flagship car of the Mitsubishi Motor Corporation. It is a car of highly refined characteristics; its similarity to the Mitsubishi Lancer being limited to sharing a monocoque chassis of the same design. The Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution was developed by the company for the Group ‘A’ class of the World Rally Championships. The standard Lancer is no match in power to the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution. The first model of the car was equipped with a two-liter turbo-charged engine tuned designed to deliver astounding performance. Innovative all time four wheel drive transmission from the Mitsubishi Galant VR4 was integrated into the Lancer Evolution. It came in two models; the GSR and the RS. The GSR was a streetcar version with trims like anti lock brakes, power windows and seats, rear wiper and other frills. The RS was a stripped down racing model, which lost seventy kilograms by omitting the frills of the GSR to gain an edge in power.
Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution 9 launched in 2006: The latest Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution 9 (IX) was launched in 2006. With engine capacity still at two liters, it now acquired MIVEC, (Mitsubishi Innovative valve timing and lift Electronic Control system) to gain a thirty horsepower increase over the Evo 8 which was launched in 2003. The MIVEC in this model controls only the valve timing and not the lift. The Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution 9 is available in four models in the US. The first is the standard or GSR which is a standard model with a revised five speed transmission. The RS version has the revised five-speed transmission but is sans frills provided in the other models. The roof is aluminum. The SE i.e. the special edition has high-density headlights with integrated fog lights, an aluminum roof, red stitched Recaro seats and ten spoke forged aluminum wheels. The MR version of the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution 9, 2006, has monotube shocks, vortex generator and gauge pack with a six-speed transmission, replacing the five speed, in addition to the features of the SE.
Mitsubishi Lancer Evo- 2007: The Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution is colloquially called the Evo. The Mitsubishi Lancer Evo- 2007 is, in fact, the yet to be launched Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X. Expected to go into production by mid 2007, the Mitsubishi Lancer Evo- 2007 will receive a redesigned chassis and computer system. It will also come equipped with the S-WAC i.e. the Super All Wheel Control to designed to deliver optimum torque to all the wheels at all times. The new two liter engine will incorporate the Mitsubishi electronic variable valve timing and lift system, typically known as MIVEC and will have a dual overhead camshaft configuration.
