Kawasaki voyager...
The Kawasaki Voyager Motorcycle - A ‘Tourer’ par excellence:
Kawasaki started the production of the Kawasaki Voyager in March 1983 and stunned the world with a top-of-the-line touring bike that was far more advanced than all its competitors. The Kawasaki Voyager ZN1300A motorcycle, a luxury tourer, came equipped with a 1300 cc six cylinder four stroke motor, DFI (digital fuel injection) system, digital speedometer, calculator for making fuel consumption and average speed calculations, AM/FM radio, and other innovations. It was called a 'car without doors' and was an immediate hit. It became immensely popular among touring enthusiasts and remained in production up to 2004.
In 1989, the motor was replaced with a more advanced and lighter 1200-cc four-cylinder power-plant, and the bike was rechristened as the Kawasaki Voyager XII. The Kawasaki Voyager XII comes with a four stroke, liquid cooled, DOHC, sixteen valves, engine with four carburetors. The riding comfort is excellent with 41mm equalized air fork with remote filler for the front suspension, and equalized air shocks with remote filler and adjustable rebound damping for the rear suspension. The span of the front wheel is 5.5 inches, and it is 3.9 inches for the real wheel. The other goodies include a full fairing, deeply cushioned seats, electronic cruise control, passenger footboards, dual stage center stand, four speaker AM/FM Stereo Radio Cassette Player with dual remote controls and digital clock, spacious saddle bags, large adjustable rear trunk, and a wide wind shield. Even today, after more than twenty years of its introduction, the Kawasaki Voyager is still a mount of choice for die-hard addicts of long distance touring. Find it hard to believe?
