Hyper thyroid

Hyper Thyroid - Active syndromes: The term Hyper simply translates to more; when the thyroid gland in the bodies of mammals tends to work more i.e. produce more thyroid hormone than it’s necessary, the condition is called Hyperthyroidism. Hyper thyroid active syndromes generally include palpitations of the heart, heat intolerance, nervousness, insomnia, breathlessness, fatigue and increased bowel movements in both the genders, while in females it is characterized by light or no menstrual periods as well. The disease increases the normal metabolic rate of the body resulting in increased heat sensation, and then, in loss of weight. Severe conditions give rise to shortness of breath, cardiac pain and weakness but all these symptoms initially go unnoticed till the patients fully realize the adverse physical conditions. And this is what that makes the ailment grow more severe.
Hyper Thyroid: Cause of the Disease : Although causes are galore, hyper thyroid disease makes the whole gland overproduce the thyroid hormone; Grave’s Disease, as it is called, is only a type. Instances are there when a single nodule produces the excess hormone because of certain antibodies that attach to specific sites on the gland, making it secrete more hormones. Thus, Hyper thyroid is an autoimmune disease since the immune system turns against the thyroid gland causing the eyes to bulge out, inflammation and double or blurred vision.
Hyper Thyroid - A Dog-health concern: A typically endocrine disease, hyper thyroid is also a health concern among cats and dogs. Hyperthyroid in a dog is called functional thyroid edematous hyperplasia; though a rare phenomenon in dogs, the most common cause behind it is the thyroid carcinoma. The disease is a slow progressive one and affects other organs as well. Symptoms are the same as that in humans and diagnosis through simple blood tests (T4 test) confirms the onset. As hyper thyroid medicine, a drug called Tapazol is effective since it curbs the over-production of thyroid hormone but also brings about a large number of side effects including nausea and weakness. Surgical removal may serve as an option and involves lesser complications but requires a normalization of the thyroid hormone levels in blood prior to the surgery, in order to keep Hypothyroidism at bay. An oral medication with Thyroxine has been found to provide he best results.
Hyper Thyroid: Hypo-thyroidism as a side effect: The last option to treat hyper thyroid syndrome is to let go off the thyroid gland; this may result in transforming hyper thyroid to hypothyroid syndromes. Evident from symptoms such as fatigue, hair loss, intolerance to cold, muscle cramps, amnesia and decreased libido, hyperthyroidism can inflict potential damage on the entire system mainly due to the fact that thyroid hormone is produced under the influence of the pituitary and it shall bombard the thyroid gland with TSH (thyroid stimulating hormone) to become larger and form goiter. No or wrong treatment aggravates the fatality and though a rare phenomenon, such complications can give rise to terminal diseases like acute depression, failure of the heart and coma.
