Hiatal Hernia Symptom: What occurs because of a portion of the stomach sliding through the diaphragmatic esophageal hiatus is going to show the signs for sure; it’s due to our own ignorance that we mistake the Hiatal Hernia symptoms as mere acidity, if not discovered accidentally. But that doesn’t mean that gastroesophageal reflux diseases or GERD are the only ones; Hiatal Hernia also gives indications through sign and symptom like heartburn, belching or chest pain. At times complications do happen, which, if not taken care of early, may case life-threatening complications like gastric volvulus. However, these symptoms do not occur in case of small Hiatal hernias; severe chest pain and dysphagia are caused when the hernia attains a considerable size.

Umbilical Hernia Symptom: Falling under the category Paraumbilical Hernia, hernias developing in umbilicus as well as in the surrounding regions are the result of existing congenital weakness of vessels of the fetal and infant umbilical cord that exits through the muscle of the abdominal wall. The weakness, if not treated, bulges and opens in a progressive manner; as a result, the content of the abdominal cavity protrudes through, bringing forth navel deformity, an associated bulge and pain at or near the navel area. Umbilical hernia may occur at any time of one’s life; though in infants, they gradually close by 3 or 4 years of age, in adults, umbilical hernias gradually increase resulting in incarceration or strangulation if proper care is not taken.

Inguinal Hernia Symptom: A bulge in the groin or scrotum marks the onset of inguinal hernia; other inguinal hernia symptoms are discomfort or pain in the groin that worsens while bending or lifting a weight, nausea and vomiting, heaviness, swelling, and a pull or burning sensation in the area of the hernia, scrotum, or inner thigh. Among females, the symptoms usually show up as a bulge in the large fold of skin (labia) surrounding the genitals and discomfort and aches that are relieved only in a lying posture.

Sports Hernia Symptom:Caused due to the weakening of the muscles or tendons of the lower abdominal wall, sports hernia symptom show up at the part of the abdomen where an inguinal hernia also occurs; however, in sports hernia, though the problem is due to a weakening of the same abdominal wall muscles, no palpable hernia can be detected. A slow onset of aching pain in the lower abdominal region usually marks its presence that soon affects the lower abdomen, the groin and the testicles in males. The symptoms become more prominent with activities like running or bending forward as well as through coughing or sneezing.
