He had established his practice in Detroit, and would go on to become renown for his theater design, over 250 of them across North America. With its lavish and rich interior bearing a subtle yet distinctive blend of Chinese, Burmese, Hindu, Persian, and Indian motifs, it is truly a wonderous sight to behold. The Detroit Fox Theater has three levels of seating in a tiered structure. The first level is the Main Floor, right above the orchestra pit. The second is the Mezzanine level, and the third is the Gallery, or balcony. All in all, it is capable of seating a capacity crowd of 5025, which makes it the second largest theater in the nation. After being fully restored and cleaned in 1988 by the owners, Mike and Marian Ilitch, the Detroit Fox Theater, Michigan, once again sparkles in a manner reminiscent of its glory days in the roaring twenties.
