Boomerang cartoon

Boomerang on Cartoon Network Channel: Boomerang is the name of a television network owned by the Cartoon Network channel. It was one of the two real spin-offs of Cartoon Network that used to telecast classic animated cartoons and animated television series from the archives of Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, Warner Bros and Hanna Barbera. Its other channels are operated from the United Kingdom, Germany, Spain, France, Brazil, Latin America, Australia and some Eastern European countries. The United States version of Boomerang initially used to carry a weekly looping programming format. Boomerang does not telecast advertisements, except for Boomerang or the Cartoon Network channel programmes. Basically, it was a programming block on the Cartoon Network that aimed at baby boomers. Boomerang has telecast both theatrical animation and television series from various libraries. These include:
- Warner Bros: Batman, Duck Dodgers and Justice League.
- Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer: Tom and Jerry, Droopy Dog, Barney Bear and Screwball Squirrel.
- Hanna- Barbara: 2 Stupid Dogs, A Pup Named Scooby-Doo, Banana Splits, Captain Caveman and the Teen Angels, The Flintstones, Jabber Jaw, The Jetsons, Jonny Quest and many more.
Juggling: To begin the juggling game, you need to have two boomerangs. You need to throw the first boomerang into the air and just before catching it, throw the second one up. Then throw the first one again, while the second one is still in the air. The main idea is to keep one of the boomerangs in the air at all times, so that the level of enthusiasm keeps increasing. The game of juggling used to be a competitive event. Many spirited players showed extraordinary ability in the game. However, it can be played alone and it helps you to concentrate better.
Trick Catches: Trick catches is a very entertaining game. You can try to catch the boomerang under your leg, behind your back and can also apply one-handed and two-handed catches. In case your boomerang is nearing the ground, you need to wait until it is low enough and kick it back up into the air and catch it. Accuracy and right timing are the key elements that help a player to win in Trick catches. You need to keep a record of the number of times you could get your boom to bounce back to the exact spot from where you threw it. It is essential to keep one foot firmly rooted to the ground after a throw and catch the boom, without moving your foot.
G-L-O-R-P: G-L-O-R-P is another fascinating boomerang game and is similar to the basketball game, H-O-R-S-E. In G-L-O-R-P, the first thrower completes a trick catch and all the other throwers repeat the same trick, to avoid getting a ‘letter’. The first thrower generally performs a trick catch of his choice and then the others attempt the same catch. However, they get a ‘letter’ if they fail to complete the catch. In case a player gets all the five letters, G, L, O, R and P, he is considered ‘out’ of the game. The thrower, who does not get a letter, finally wins the game.
Boomerang Cartoon Schedule: Earlier, the Boomerang cartoon was scheduled for Saturday afternoons. Later, it was changed to early Saturday morning and the Sunday block, to Sunday evenings. The shift in the telecast schedule of the Boomerang cartoon continued to be rescheduled and finally it came down to once a week, on Saturday and that too, shortened by an hour.
