Employee Award Recognition: It is a human tendency to expect recognitions for good work and contributions. Even in organizations, employee recognition for noteworthy work-related accomplishment is important to boost the working environment. An accomplishment can be recognized by acknowledging with presentation or gift. The gift can be an item of tangible personal property of minimal value such as flowers, fruit, book or memento, a ticket for events or hotels, a non-negotiable gift certificates or vouchers etc. Some additional incentives can also be given as an acknowledgement. Even one month parking permit or transit pass may be issued as an employee recognition award. The award should be given without any discrimination and it must be planned for what factors and performance or contribution the reward must be given. Every employee must be eligible for recognition. The recognition must clearly give the employer and the employee with specific information about what behaviors or actions are being rewarded and recognized. It should be a motivating factor for others to improve. Anyone performing at the standard level or rate must be rewarded.
Employee Award Services: The employee service awards may be given for a temporary accomplishment to encourage the further contributions. Also the award may be given for long length of service achievements. Some companies recognize full-time employees for their eligible years of service and some companies recognize the services in five year increments. Many organizations have a number of employee service award programs which permit the employees being recognized to select either a kind of traditional service award pin or a gift from a catalog.
Employee Funny Award: The good natured fun is always appreciated. There are some interactive corporate entertainment shows, where the funny awards are given to the employees by a comedian. The funny awards are meant only for fun or entertainment and are not meant to embarrass. While awarding the funny award, the comedian may prompt the employee for a little back story and acceptance speech. The funny awards must have funny titles for the award which must be relevant to the purpose. For instance, an award like “The Spammie Award” will look very funny and ideal for the person who always forwards emails. Similarly, the ideal funny awards can be given to the worker who is never seen in the office or the one who is always late to the office or the one who leaves the office early.
Employee of the Month Award: The employee award of the month is given by organizations to promote the working atmosphere. For such awards, the nominations can be made by the supervisors, or managers or any one in the office. Such nominations will be in written form given to the Human Resources department. A letter of recommendation from the supervisor or the manager of the employee will be an added advantage apart from the details of the contributions of the employee over a period of time with supportive documents. These nominations can be active for a minimum of six months. If any of the employee who is nominated but not selected in a particular month can be reconsidered for the next consecutive months. The review committee will review the documents and also selects the employee for the award. After the selection is made, the supervisor of the employee chosen will be informed. The employee of the month award can consist of a pin, a framed certificate and a check for some amount to encourage more contributions in the work environment.
