Jackie of Despierta America: Despierta America is an old and very popular talk show in Spanish. It is broadcast every morning. Network studios of the Univision Television Network in Florida and Miami broadcast this talk show. Despierta America is famous for the catch phrase ‘echate paca’, which means ‘come here’. The show highlights controversial gossip and news on celebrated Latin entertainers. Ana Maria Conseco, Fernando Arau, Karla Martinez, Neida Sandoval, Raul Gonzalez and Jackie Guerrido of Despierta America host the show. The show is complete with a mascot and a sidekick. Jackie Guerrido of Despierta America is the weather anchor. She has also added a workout segment to the show. The hosts of the show are natives of Mexico, except for Neida Sandoval and Raul Gonzalvez.

Despierta America on Univision network: Univision is the largest television network in the United States, in Spanish. After ABC, CBS, NBS and Fox, Univision is the fifth largest American network. Its main office is in Los Angeles, California. The origin of Univision dates back to 1961. The major production facilities are operated from Florida and Miami. Univision is viewed in many countries, on cable. There are over-the-air stations of Univision that cover a large Hispanic population. Most of the stations air all the programs and local news, in addition to the regular shows on the Univision network. Despierta America on Univision is one of the most popular shows. Jackie Guerrido of Despierta America: You must be already captivated by the frank and outspoken Jackie Guerrido, if you watch the shows on the Univision Television Network regularly. She is a celebrated journalist and television weather person. She was raised and educated in Puerto Rico. Jackie relocated with her family to New York, after completing her education. Her dream was to become an actress. She attended several auditions and even landed herself with some roles that essentially required modeling. Jackie made her debut on television as a model in commercials for clothes and beverages. She was also offered a job on ‘El Vacilon dela Manana’ or goofing around in the morning, a morning radio show. This show was transmitted through MEGA 97.9. After a couple of years she settled down in Miami and joined the HBC Radio Company. This radio company gave her a chance to co-host a radio program. Her work included broadcasting traffic conditions and news. Jackie got a job as a traffic reporter on television, in ‘Telemundo’ on Channel 51. Thus, she started working for television and radio simultaneously. She was later offered the opportunity to be the weather person for the TV show ‘Al Amanacer de Noticas 23’ or the morning news on Channel 23, by Univision. Jackie took the trouble of completing a course in meteorology with the University of Florida.

Currently, Jackie Guerrido is the weatherperson on Despierta America. She is a divorcee and has two children. In 2004, she was nicknamed the ‘Good Will Ambassador’ of the Puerto Rican Day Parade that was celebrated in the City of New York.
